How We Elevated A Nonprofit's Brand Through An Updated Design.

At Mediaura, we believe it’s important to invest in the growth and well being of our community. Periodically, we donate our services to a charity or non-profit to give back to those who give so much to others. Utilizing our technological and digital expertise, we helped Goodwill of Southern Indiana revamp their digital presence in order to reflect their important mission.

The Goodwill website was quite dated, poorly designed and not easily navigable. With donations down our team stepped up to the plate to give them something they could be proud. A website that was also easily updateable and could leverage SEO quite readily without requiring a single point of contact (i.e. a programmer) when changes needed to be made.



Giving Back In A Meaningful Way

After meeting with the Goodwill Southern Indiana team and discussing their needs, they identified the top three things they wanted to highlight:

  • Donations
  • Shopping
  • Changing Lives (Programs and Services)

Using that information, we transformed the website into a much more cohesive and updated design. We put the site on a Joomla CMS and integrated it with Paypal because our main goal was to make it as easy as possible for people to give to the Goodwill organization. We introduced a slideshow of images to display their objectives, along with modules that feature their top services. We added a search function so that users can find locations closest to them or locate stores in their surrounding area. We also darkened the font on light backgrounds while lightening fonts on dark backgrounds for increased legibility.

Each interior page also received a makeover; the older website’s interior pages suffered from the same issues as the homepage - lack of visibility, poor font choices, weak design layout, etc. Mediaura took these outdated pages with on-page errors and turned them into engaging, well-organized designs by adding interior menus, images and making all elements clean and simple. We added SEO optimized elements to enhance the website’s overall visibility to search engines and made the design mobile-friendly, increasing its usability on a variety of devices
